August 5th, 2011 – SINGAPORE – Following the press conference commemorating the official launch of LiveJournal.sg, Annelies van den Belt, Chief Executive Officer of LiveJournal.com, wasted no time in meeting LiveJournal users from Singapore at its regional headquarters – Tickled Media office. She was accompanied by Danila Titkov, Director of Research & Business Intelligence, LiveJournal.com.
In the fast-paced digital world today, it is a constant fight to stay closely relevant to consumers’ needs. In order to empower LiveJournal users in the reshaping of LiveJournal, two focus groups were conducted. Discussed over a heartening spread of afternoon high tea, the topics were – their current thoughts on LiveJournal – what they loved, and which areas they would like to see improvement.

Power to our bloggers – Annelies van den Belt, LiveJournal CEO, met local users at Tickled Media office for a personal understanding from the ground
Focus Group 1 – LiveJournal Loyal Users
The first LiveJournal Focus Group kicked off with an excited discussion between Annelies, Danila and 5 loyal LiveJournal users. Two of them are co-owners of a LiveJournal blogshop that earns up to $45,000 a month with LiveJournal shoppers accounting for about 70% of its revenue. Annelies led the in-depth discussion to discover more insights regarding what Singapore users expect from the LiveJournal experience.

Focus Group 2 – LiveJournal Ex-users
The second LiveJournal Focus Group with ex-users proved to be no less interesting – the LiveJournal Singapore team made sure to miss no detail when collecting feedback from them. It shed much light on many factors that caused ex-users to switch to other popular platforms such as Facebook and Tumbler, and what enhancements are likely to win them back on-board LiveJournal again to shop, blog and host blogshops. Although these LiveJournal ex-users were previously happy to move on from LiveJournal, they now wait with bated breath to use LiveJournal again, especially with its intended enhancements.

Both focus groups reek strongly of loyalty to the LiveJournal experience
